The conference marks the end of a five year research project in Mozambique, led by the University of Edinburgh.
Delegates are requested NOT to print this document as it will be provided on arrival at the conference.
The primary outcome of the workshop will be the finalisation of a major publication describing the process for implementing, managing and sustaining major carbon sequestration projects in tropical developing countries. This document will relate specifically to the dry tropical forests of Africa, however many of the themes will be transferable to other areas.
This conference will provide information to those wanting to learn more about the process of implementing and managing sustainable carbon sequestration projects in tropical developing countries. Issues of risk, permanence, governance and methodologies for carbon sink analysis will be covered in the programme.
The conference organisers gratefully acknowledge financial support for this conference from the European Union.
