Moss Centenary Research Award

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS FOR THE MOSS CENTENARY RESEARCH AWARDS

We are delighted to announce that three colleagues have been awarded an equal share of this one-off research fund, generously provided by Mr and Mrs Derek and Maureen Moss to assist younger scholars with their research. The successful applicants are Dr Betsy Olson, Dr Tom Slater and Dr Claire Haggett. Dr Olson will use the funds to undertake work on the geography and history of evangelical religion in early twentieth-century Peru, examining the 'El Heraldo' newspaper (and other sources) from 1911-1921. Dr Slater's award will go towards the book he is writing - 'Fighting Gentrification' - and will enable him to attend research meetings in New York to develop further work in this field. Dr Haggett's work is in the social bases to energy and the environment and she will be directing the funds towards a project on understanding the social experience of noise from wind farms.

Congratulations to all three. We look forward to hearing of further successes arising from these strands of research.
